Now in its sixth year, the ARTring jewelry exhibition has just opened in London at Tomfoolery jewelry gallery, marking 30 years of the London jewelry institution with a celebration of bold creativity. Twenty-six designers have custom-designed rings for the event, each one featuring three separate elements to reflect three decades of Tomfoolery, London’s understated jewelry gallery in the Muswell Hill neighborhood.
“The 30th year of Tomfoolery was an incredibly special and sentimental milestone,” says Laura Kay. “What truly stood out was witnessing how our designers pushed themselves creatively for our ARtring showcase. Their passion and involvement throughout the process has been so inspiring and a testament to the deep connection they share with our vision.” The gallery has grown a following for its showcases twice-yearly showcases, including LoveRing each summer and ARTring in the winter.

Her personal favorite, is the Happenstance Cluster ring, by Alison Macleod, in which gentle brushed gold makes two tourmalines and a diamond pop. It’s an understated ring, that for Laura, met the brief perfectly: “the three stones each represent a decade of creativity, resilience and passion, not only celebrating a significant milestone, but also reflecting the artistry and a dedication that have shaped Tomfoolery’s legacy.”
Triple stones, multicolors, and symbolic iconography abound, as designers interpret the theme in their own way, laying out their intentions in a story card and sketches with each one. The full list of contemporary designers taking part this year, is Alice Clarke, Alison Evans, Alison Macleod, Ami Pepper, Ciara Bowles, Charlotte Rowenna, Eily O’Connell, Ellis Mhairi Cameron, Emily Nixon, Evangeline Porche, Franny E, Georgina Hopkin, Heather Guidero, Irena Chmura, Issy White, Januka, Juliette Nicaise (Shiny Root), Laura Ngyou, Leto Lama, Lynne Maclachlan, Maria Beltran, Maria Manola, Marion Lebouteiller, Maud Traon, Mia Chicco, Momocreatura, Rosalyn Faith, Ros Millar, Ruth Tomlinson, Sarah Straussberg, Shimara Carlow, Sian Evans, Studio Baharra, TF House, WWAKE and Vazana.
