While some airlines are cutting back, others are leveling up with premium products that go above and beyond.

First revealed in 2022, American Airlines is expected to start rolling out its newFlagship Suite in 2025. These new business class suites will have privacy doors and a chaise lounge seating option (as well as a lie-flat setting). Companion dining with shared tables will also be possible.

With an anticipated launch early in late 2024 and early 2025, Air France has a new first-class cabin, La Première, which will have the “longest configuration on the market,” according to a press release. There is no exact length provided, but each suite is expected to span the length of five aircraft windows.

Swiss is rolling out redesigned cabins, with the most exciting arrival coming to Swiss First, with a private suite with lockable sliding doors, a wardrobe, and ambient mood lighting designed to reduce jetlag. The new concept is debuting in 2025 on the airline’s Airbus A350s and will ultimately expand to include Airbus A330s and Boeing B777s.

Already launched in October 2024, on redesigned Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, Cathay Pacific also has a new business class suite. These new Aria suites have privacy doors and offer wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity for screen pairing with Bluetooth-enabled headphones. The new cabins are also decked out in curated, Hong Kong-centric art by artists like Koon Wai Bong, Elaine Chiu and Gordon Cheung.

While it’s not coming until mid-2026, British Airways has given travelers a first look at their new first cabin, which will be retrofitted on A380s. This will be the first and only European carrier to offer a first-class product from the UK to the US, and new seats will have a span of 36.5 inches with a lie-flat bed stretching out to 79 inches. Other features include mood lighting with relax, dine and cinema modes. There is also a “do not disturb” setting. For the dual center seats, a sliding divider will allow for companion dining.
