Nancy Twine Steps Down as Briogeo CEO

Fashion News and Trends:

Briogeo is the latest beauty brand to see some top-of-the-year executive changes.

Nancy Twine, who founded the company more than a decade ago and sold it to the Wella Co. in 2022, has stepped down as chief executive officer of the clean hair care brand. She is remaining on as founder and is still “very much engaged and active” in the business, a spokesperson for the company confirmed.

“Nancy has changed roles from CEO to founder; Kristen Blandon is now president of Briogeo, leading the business,” the spokesperson continued.

Blandon joined Briogeo in April 2024 as president.

It’s been a busy start to the year as C-suites industry-wide have reshuffled, including Wella. Chief executive Annie Young-Scrivner announced her departure in January, citing family matters.

Elsewhere, L’Oréal saw the departure of Nathalie Gerschtein last month, and veteran Carol Hamilton announced her retirement from the beauty giant Wednesday. Ulta Beauty’s chief marketing officer Michelle Crossan-Matos also departed the retailer earlier this year.

At the Estée Lauder Cos., newly anointed CEO Stéphane de La Faverie unveiled a new corporate structure that saw the elevation of a handful of executives on Monday, and late last year, Deciem cofounder Nicola Kilner also relinquished her CEO title in favor of staying on as cofounder.

Twine started Briogeo in 2013, primed for both the clean beauty movement as well as the ensuing boom in prestige hair care. Since then, she’s gone on to found her own content hub, NancyTwine.com, and the Dream Makers Founder Grant, a $1 million grant for female founders. That fund has also collaborated with Sephora‘s Accelerate incubator program and the Fifteen Percent Pledge.
